    Hello everyone,

I've run into a problem. I just installed a MI into the PS2. Everything seems to be fine except the PS2 is not able to read the discs very well. I'm not even sure what my boot percentage is? Maybe 1%. Yes, its a real chip. I'm using Taiyo Yuden DVD-R discs. Even if i turn my MI chip off by pushing the start button. I can't seem to get the PS2 to read the discs. My PS2 was working 100% before i installed the chip. There is no bridging of solder points. I just fear that my laser is weak? Can i change the laser? Please help out!

    Thank you.

yEAH, I would guess the same that your laser is very weak.
How does it play DVD-R movies??

That will give you an idea if its a media/laser issue or install issue i guess.
Hello. This is my signature. Nice? yeah? Thanks!

You sure you got it right? V2, dosent that require for the power supply to be desoldered? If you did that, did you make sure not to demage anything, taking that thing off might turn messy.

This is the Version of playstation i have:

    USA-GH005.JPG

    Ex-con,

I'm not too sure about the power supply to be desolder. I didn't do that all at?

Its pretty strange. My PS2 is working when it rests for a longtime. Like overnight. Then i can play for about 1hr then it starts to make a funny buzzing nosie. Anyone else with this problem?

I did not connect sx and y on the underside. I used the alternative for SX but i don't know how to get to the bottom of motherboard. I'm assuming you have to desolder the board? If you could help me out Ex-Con.

    Thank you.
