Matrix Infinty bad flash or something

Hey there people, great forum.

Need some help with my SCPH-50004 PAL box and Matrix Infinity chip.
I bought the ps2 used and it had bios 1.38 installed. I tried to update to v 1.39 and now nothing works. Upgrade went fine and when i reset the box it would only play original games. Boot mode is set to auto and i get the matrix menu when pressing circle + triangle button. I tried to hold reset button in 2-3 seconds but it wont let me boot the v1.88 or v1.39 upgrade cd again

It just gives me error to "insert a ps2 disc" or something. Backups that worked with the 1.38 wont work now after flash :/
All that works now are original games.

I have this problem too... My PS2 is 70004 and I tried to upgrade 1.38 -> 1.88. Now I can play only original games ... What I have to do ???

Hmm, i think i know the problem now, it was a Matrix Infinity SE modchip, wich is a clone og MI

This only works bios up to 1.40 apperantly, but since i flashed with 1.39 and changed settings in the startup screen i guess its fried

It will probably not work, but im gonna try to boot the flash cd with swap magic

I`ve tried the swap magic, but it doesn`t work ...

I think I have to remove chip, and try again

yip - chances are its a clone. If you can't play backups are the upgrade or you can't downgrade again then the chip is a clone and its stuffed.
