Matrix Infinity and V12
I installed the Matrix Infinity (looks like a blue dot) and flashed it to V1.75, It will not play any backups, DVD movies.. It still plays PS2 orig games.. I Have a V12 PS2. It played one burnt DVD at first (turned it on let it boot then powered it off to test) since then it hasn't played a single backup game or dvd.. Did the laser get burnt in that short time? I have a Subzero fix on the way, will installing it resolve the problem..
I have a Sony DRU810 DVD drive and i've tried Verbatim Advanced AZO +R disks, Sony AccuCore (+R and -R), Verbatim Video Gaurd +R.. These are all high end disks. any ideas?

Does it still boot originals? No the fixes for the V12's are for preventive measures. Installing one after the fact will not help if the laser is fried.

I swapped the lasers.. Yeah it boots all my origs just fine.
Got me confused...
-
Sounds like an installation issue then. Check for loose wires.

Everything looks fine, every point is in place, every solder is clean and stable... i dunno..

Other alternatives...
Can i boot a USB HDD with Games on it via the MI Chip and the independance exploit??
-
Is there an alternate SX Position?
What does the SX point do?

When you boot up an original PS2 game with the chip enabled do you see the big "Matrix" logo and then when the "Playstation 2" logo comes up do you see right under the logo and to the right "Infinity 1.75"?
The SX point is for booting PSX back-ups. There is an alternate point, you can solder to the chip leg right on the CXD chip.
The exploit does not work with the V12-V14/15 consoles. And why would you want to use the exploit when you can use the Infinitys Dev1/Dev2 mode?
