I installed a Matrix Infinity on my PStwo tonight, and everything works fine. Original games work great, and I even get the nifty infinity symbol underneath the Playstation 2 when the game boots. But when I put in a backup, I cant seem to get it started. It asks for an original PS2 or PS disc. I figured if my chip works great, there must not be anything wrong with the install. Or am I wrong?

Did you flash it? The blue dot Matrix Infinity does not support backups with original firmware.

Woops, forgot to thank you. Thanks

And I could grab the software from the infinity website? Or is it more of an underground thing?

Okay, I updated the firmware to 1.39, and I still cant seem to boot any back ups. Could this be a wiring issue of any sort?

Try checking the DVD controller wires. Are you burning them properly at a low speed and using good media. Try that and see if it helps.

Hmmm, do you mean the DVD drive cables? I'll get on that
Acutally, the backups work great on my brother's playstation. They're Ritecks or something.

The wires on the motherboard. The vias you soldered. Try checking those.
