Matrix Infinity From V10 to V14 Help Wanted
Matrix Infinity From V10 to V14 Help Wanted –

I recently bought a Slimline PS2 SCPH ? 75002 PAL and I would like to install my Matrix infinity Modchip I purchased a year ago.
It was installed in a V10 PS2 back then but I didn?t do the ?Romeo Mod? on it and sure enough the laser went, the chip still worked great as I had HD loader booting from the memory card so I was still able to use it.
I now want to install it on my Slimline I believe that model is a V14. I?m unsure about the firmware is on the chip and the steps I need to take to have working, I can?t tell what version firmware is actually on the chip now cause i took it out but I think it was the second maybe third firmware version released for that chip. I?m also unsure if I need to do anything to protect the laser, I believe only V12?s had the laser issue however I?m open to any recommendations on protecting it.

V-14 does not require any laser protection however the MATRIX chip you have will not work in a V-14 as you will need a MI GREEN DOT in any console above v-13, even if you update the FIRMWARE it still wont work!!

Yes ps2ods is correct, i just received an email from the matrix team confirming that. I'm thinking i might get a Ghost 2 version 2 now, ps2mods what are your thoughts on this? they had to also redisign the code from scratch to make it work so the old ones cant be upgraded to work on a v14, but the chip it self has so many features.

Personally i would go for the MATRIX and my second choice would be the crystal chip.

I had a Ghost2 installed on a jap PS2 and it performed no problems. The new G2 firmware even supports DNAS bypassing. The only other chip supporting this is C.C. Either are good choices.
PS2 V9 w/ C.C. 1.0 BM1.8
