Hello everyone I consider myself an advanced modder, the problem im having is this I recently bought a Matrix infinity from a trusted reseller, installed the chip with no problems. When I boot my ps2 up I see the Matrix logo but I cant play any of my back-up games or movies. I can go into the configuration menu of the chip, I can disable it, I've even upgraded the firmware. I can do all things that anyone else can do but play my backups, all I get is the red cube screen!!! Can anyone help??

Take a look at the wires... I can't see anything more than this.

Is this ps2 a slimline version?

You dont need a chip to read backup movies, so if you cant play your backup movies then you either have a problem making the backup or a problem reading the disks. Are you using the same brand of media for your games and dvd backups? Some PS2's dont like certain brands of media. Make sure you have a good image on quality media; test your backups on another PS2 if you can. Also, if the laser is dying it may only read originals and not backups. Chip seems to work fine since you can upgrade it, and PS2 seems to work fine since it can read the upgrade CD. If you are sure you have good backup disks, then it must be your install.
