i had my PS2 scph30001 modded with Matrix Infinity Mod Chip, when i got it back i noticed that the Vibration function of both my Controllers were gone, when i tried to ask the one who modded it why it happened all they could say was that its caused by the Mod Chip itself.. is this true or are they lying to me? can you pls explain? thanks...

I have a Duo3 Ultra chip on my console, so it may not apply, but the only problem I saw for the first few weeks after getting my console back was the sphere in the background of the PS2 main menu screen not rotating. That all fixed itself eventually, but I've never had a problem with the rumble/vibration function on controllers. A chip should have nothing to do with that.

My guess is he's tellin ya that so you won't do anything about it, but that's just my take. There's plenty more people on this site who have MI chips and I'm sure they can elaborate better than I on the subject. But as far as I know, no chip should interfere with the feedback function on controllers.

The installer is lying to you.
I have matrix chip on SCPH-39003 which i installed myself(5yrs ago)
Could be damage on the Flexible flat cable(FFC) which connects the controller ports to the mainboard.

is there any chance a clone Mod would interfere with the rumble function of the controllers? im not sure if my mod is an original Matrix Infinity since i didnt open the unit for fear of losing modder's warranty...

The 8v fuse for the controller port has blown. It's a torn controller cable.
Neither the modchip installer nor the chip is at fault.

Never use 3rd party controllers on your PS2. Never use pirated controllers either.

And it needs replacement/repair. (the fuse on the motherboard)
