Hi, im having some problems and thought id get some answers from the experts

ive got a v15 modded with the Infinity. i seem to have a low boot rate, theres a similar thread here where the dude says 'when it works it works fine, but it doesnt always work', thats me too. well it was, ive noticed something else on top of that - on a couple of game backups tested the video/audio skips during videos.

if the boot rate is the result of a bad install, is the skipping also? i am using 8x taiyo yuden full face printable dvd-rs, which i have been burning at 4x, but did have some of the images rar'd and stored on lesser quality dvds at one point.

i got this ps2 already premodded off a website, and i want to make sure theres a real problem before i go through the rigmarole of sending it back

    thanks very much

I used to have the same issue.

All I did was change the brand of DVD's that I use and burned at 8x on 16x disks as even on high quality media my ps2 seems to have an issue with disks recorded at 4x

I try and always use TDK now or verbatim if I can't get TDK. I know verbatim are actually better but here in the Netherlands blank DVD's are quite expensive and there is a huge price difference between tdk and verbatim

I usually use Verbatim dvd+r or Sony DVD+r if Verbatim isnt available.

I use Sony 16x Dvd-r and I find they burn better with DVD Decrypter. I used to use Dshirt 8x, but only coz they were cheap. They burned ok.. got 3 out of 4 successes with them, but I gotta be honest I prefer the Sonys now... they work 9 out of 10 (even higher I suppose).
