Matrix Infinity Homebrew Upgrade
Matrix Infinity Homebrew Upgrade –
Anyone ever had their system freeze whilst performing the firmware upgrade?I have a version 12 (slimline) ps2, upgraded with a Matrix Infinity Homebrew and a comsoft laer fix version 4.
The ps2 boots the cd I then press start, the screen says programming etc...but just hangs there.
I tried restarting but still no luck
Firstly, is it a genuine chip? If not then thats why its not worked. I had a similair problem with a genuine infinty which did the same, sticking on the "programming please wait" screen. Luke from Infinity Mods advised I go over the pins of the eeprom with some solder paste as this sometimes cures the problem ( apparently this though rare sometimes happens when some of the legs are not properly in contact with the pcb).
I tried this and it didnt work for me and I had the chip replaced, but may work for you.

Reason: Spelling correction.
Thanks for the info, the chips are from a genuine source! I did notice however that instead of the usual blue dot i have a red dot in the top corner of the alcatel chip.
