I have a slimline PS2 v12. After I installed the MI green dot chip and checked all the solder points, when I turn on the unit the light turns green for a second then back to the red (off) light. What am I doing wrong? Just purchased the MI chip-Its not a fake.

    Go to http://www.psrtech.co.uk/fuses/v12-gh-032-fuses.jpg

with your multimeter, set it to ohms. Put the rods on the oposite sides of the fuse. If you get a reading of anything else then 0, you have to replace that fuse

disconnect wires A-B-G-H-I and see if the problem still exists... Its very possible that you scraped the ground around the via's and shorted one of the points. That would cause your problem.
