    Hello people,

I'm trying to install a Matrix Infinity chip in a PS2 model 90004 with a GH-072-42 board. But I can't seem te find a decent scheme for soldering.

    I can only find these:
    http://www.modchip-wizard.com/produc...stallation.htm

    or these:
    http://img177.imageshack.us/img177/6...ygh07142dd.jpg

But all of them are for the modbo chip or for the GH-071-42 board. Does anybody have a tip or a scheme for me?

    Thank you.

don't know if this matter but i got a diagram for GH-072-42 form modbo, which is a clone of matrix infinity.

you could also use this as a base diagram since most diagram are the same, it only differs on what letter they call what.

wow thanks amp2006. That would really help me. Those diagrams for the modbo have points on them the matrix doesn't have, like GND 1 and 2 etc. This is the first time I am going tot do this, so it would be very helpful if I would have an exact diagram

Please, let me know what is written on BIOS, I need that info to add on wiki.

If board and BIOS changed, I'll call it a v19.

The device drivers seems to continue equal: D0020U.

Looking at 1st diagram, there is no "S" point on Matrix, just "SX", so:

S = SX (for PSX games) and
    RE = RST (Reset).

On Matrix Infinity there is a "hidden" point called as "F" (next to RST) and it was used for CD-RW & DVD-RW medias only (optional).

3.3V point is different on diagram I found and edited below, you will need to re-check that:

Also, that 1k ohm resistor between "W" and "GND" is really necessary? I stopped modding consoles, so I don't recall that thing.

All the rest looks fine to me, unless they changed the pcb.

The "CX" point looks like Eject, I'm not 100% sure, but since they mentioned "F" it might be something related to DVD-RW (hence optional).

Sorry for "bump" this one, but I collected more infos.

Found the reason for resistor here:
    http://psx-scene.com/forums/showpost...0&postcount=26 (SCPH-90000 Matrix Infinity Diagram)

    Another diagram:
    http://psx-scene.com/forums/attachme...4&d=1232092877

However, someone else did the resistor thing and only worked fine for just 2 reboot, then he got no more boots (fried Matrix?), so the alternative to resistor is necessary (needed to test if is reliable as well).

    Alternative to the resistor:
    http://psx-scene.com/forums/attachme...7&d=1232813165

Good luck, and if you can, please post photos of your PCB (good quality please).

Hey Amp2006, here's a picture. Sorry for the bad quality, I don't have a high grade camera for such close up pictures.
