Matrix Infinity 1.93 won't save settings
Matrix Infinity 1.93 won't save settings –
Hello, English is not my native language and grammar and I don't always get along, so sorry if I don't make any sense.
I recently decided to have my PS2 modded with a modchip, it is a Slim SCPH-90004.
I don't know much about PS2 mods so the guy at the shop said a Matrix Infinity is what I probably wanted and after some googling he was right.
Now I have it and normal PS2 games work fine (Imports and backups too) (Haven't tested PS1 games yet) but DVD movies don't give me any picture, only audio, they worked fine before.
So I enter 'settings' menu by holding Triangle and Circle at start up and get to see the menu (looks like this)
First thing I noticed was region was wrong, the dvds I tested were made for region 2 and the infinity said the ps2 were region 8, changed that, pushed the start button waited a few seconds then it said the settings were saved and I need to press reset.
So I press the power button. (just a quick press, that's how reset is used right?)
PS2 starts up again, everything looks fine, start the DVD again and only get audio again. So I go back to the settings menu, region is back at 8.
I change it back to 2 again and turn off the 'boot logo', save and press reset when told.
PS2 starts again but the 'Matrix infinity' logo still shows before the playstation 2 bios does, imagine my surprise when dvds still only give audio...
"Didn't it save?" I though immediately and went back to setting, everything was back at default. (Region 8, boot logo on and video mode 'color')
"What the hell, I'll set video mode to VGA and see if that does anything." The only thing that should happen is a black screen.
(I'm using a component cable (not a official one, it has support for Wii, Xbox 360 and either a PS2 or PS3, Wii and Xbox 360 work fine with that cable, i can get 480P for the wii and 720P for the xbox so cable should be fine. (Though I only get 576i on the PS2, but google says only certain games on the PS2 have support for 480P)))
Anyway, I save setting the PS2 to VGA mode, (had to press circle at some big warning screen this time if it matters...) reset the PS2 and i still see the logo and bios shows up just fine.
Now I'm sure it doesn't save my settings, why would it not do that?
Have I been given a fake Infinity?
Okay, disabling the chip made DVD Movies work, still annoying that I can't change settings the way I want...
show me a picture of the modchip
dude most clones doesn't save the setting .
Modbo 3 and Modbo 4 and some other their setting can be saved .
Sorry, I'm too much of a pussy to open it up.

(English is not my native language too :P) who installed the modchip? how much did it cost to you? modbo 4.0 costs 12€ (14, 15$) and it's the best clone to that ps2 model. does it have matrix menu or DMS? you must have one of this shitty clones
Helo guys how would i know that i m using clone one without opening my ps2
hello. if it's matrix and it has firmware version is v1.99, than it's definitely a clone.
If it has the previous properties but saves settings, it must be a modbo.
(don't try to update matrix clones firmware. you can blow it)
If it has firmware v1.93 and save settings you can only be sure opening it and seeing for yourself.
if it has toxic bios and it's version is 1.2, it must be a clone
if it doesn't save settings it's a bad clone
if it save settings you can try to update it's firmware (SKS Apps - Exploit Systems - Wii Ps3 Ps2 Apps - Homebrew Game Downloads)
if none of this apply, it must be an original one.
here is one video of a DMS4 clone that i thought it was a good clone, but I was wrong.

Matrix Infinity 1.93 saving it's settings, but the system configuration default in ps2 not saving time and date –
The chip is saving it's settigs, but I cannot save the system time I normally boot up ps2,go to system configuration and change date and time to my current date and time Then I could play games, and do anything, and even after resetting the console,it's okay But if I turn the power supply(Switch of the plug),on it again and switch on the console, the date is set to 01-01-2000 & time to 12:00 AM It saved before installing the chip I installed it from a proffessional engineer Mine is slim scph 90004 It also shows the matrix menu It's version is Matrix Infinity v 1 93 Mine costed me $ 28 What might be the problem?
the ps2 has a small battery inside like a computer motherboard to keep settings saved and track of the time. it maybe drained or the guy that installed your modchip forgot to put it back.
