    Hello,
I've just recently installed a matrix infinity 1.54 on a v5 ps2. I get the matrix logo on boot up and I can play all of the original ps2 games, but I can't play any backup ps2 games and I get the red screen please insert a ps or ps2 cd. I've made a backup of Nocturne via dvd decryptor and alcohol 120% using 4x and 1x burn. From what I've read it is basically dummy proof on making backups, just make a backup and burn it to dvd at a slow rate. I'm using Verbatim media DVD+R, which I was reading that some media aren't good for ps2's but this set of dvds was made by Mitsubishi Chem Corp which was shown at the list I looked at to be a good dvd to burn. I have even tried burning the firmware upgrade for the chip and flashing it, but it wouldn't boot off the cd-r and still get the RSoD (Red Screen of Death).

Some question that I have are:
Could it be the laser on the ps2 even though it reads originals fine?
Could it be one of the connections on the chips not properly soldered?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Have a professional install the modchip for you. Sounds like an installation problem.
