What's the model number of this version so that I can look up installation instructions? It's only referred to as the "Green Dot version" on this modchip.com's page (I can't post the complete url yet because of postcount).

I've only just started looking at the PS2 modding scene today, but I think I've made a solid choice with this. Is there anything else that I should know, I'm not a newbie in the modding scene I previously installed an xbox modchip and it was a psx before that.. BUT I am rusty and so I'm just wondering if there's anything I should know about compatibility issues or anything like that.. If there's any problems running FFXII backups or anything odd I might need to know about that.

I want to get the best bang for my buck but in a reasonable $50 CDN range (know of a better reputted site/cheaper, w/ real chips?), that also offers the range of unlockable features, updates.. benefits (if you will), maybe through firmware updates.

Thank you forum, hope I can contribute.

Allot of it's already starting to make sense to me I'm just making sure I didn't miss anything.. I don't have a slim PS@ so I'm assuming I don't have to worry about any laser issues.

Ok I'm completely turned around on this! I thought everything was going well, but then I realized I'm a little confused on the firmware... I understand it comes with some homebrew bios that allow original playback still.. but I'm a little confused here, do I have to download Magic Infinity's bios so I play back uped games on some newsgroup or irc or something?

matrix infinity... AFAIK the green dot is the 1.83 firmware... not too sure, but you should be able to boot backups, it shouldn't come with a homebrew only firmware... crystal chip is also a good choice, and since you're in canada i'd say foundmy has both of these chips, the crystal 2.0 pro has a bootmanager program thats nice... but matrix is also reputable and a good chip
scph-50001 you'll have to do a romeo mod, what ps2 do you have, if you have a v1-4 those dvd controller points are going to be insanely harder than any mod you've ever done
    EEEEEEWWWWW... girls gots cooties

For interest, mine came with 1.93 - not homebrew only.
