Issues with online game play

I have FFXI the real copy and am trying to install it on a japanese ps2. it has a matrix infinity chip in it, and while attempting to install it, it gives me a POL-1536 error (mod chip detected)

I thought that the mod chip had the sleep-mode function where it turned off after self boot so it can be stealth. Am i missing something here or is there an option for that?

Is there anyone sucessful with it?

disable the chip. that is the only way you're going to install it.
