Ok guys, i need some help here, im having trouble figuring out how i install HDloader to my HDD.

I have the latest firmware installed, latest infinity manager, a v10 ps2 and MI chip.

I tried using Dev2Install to install hdloader into my HDD.
I used an unpacked hdloader elf from sks and patched it with Zer0s mdma r9 patcher, and i renamed it to BOOT.ELF.

Created an iso with magic iso, and burned it with A120%

But when i rum my PS2 in Dev2 mode, all i get is a blank screen...

Im clueless as to what im doing wrong. Can you guys help me?

Not really. That method involves exploits and what not.

MI says it possible to install HDloader directly to the HD and boot it without the use of MC from what i know..

    Anyone else >.<?!

the manual posted on the thread I told you to check has also what you need to do when you want to use your elfs from the HDD.

but you need a way to launch those applications stored on your HDD, for this you must use a program such as keylauncher, ulaunchelf, etc.

A couple of things, does your burnt copy of the patched HDL works???

If you are going to install it through Dev2Install - - do you really need to rename your elf?

According to the readme that came with Dev2install from MI.

What you do is take the elf you want to boot from your HDD and rename it to BOOT.ELF and burn it along with the other files from the Dev2install pack.

This will install the elf to the HDD and when you boot your ps2 in dev2 mode it should launch the elf.

I'm using an unpatched original hdl elf file i found from a site, don't know if its allowed to post it here so im gonna call it ksk apps.

I patched that file with zer0s GUI patcher and burn the stuff.
But when booting, i just get a blank black screen

Hi Ryuuga, I also went through the same process that your trying to do since I also have a matrix infinity. I've read in some places that using HD Loader as the boot.elf isn't a good idea, but I haven't tried that myself since I use uLaunchELF as my BOOT.ELF from my MC anyways. uLaunchELF will allow you to boot any PS2 application from the HDD or MC. You can get the latest version from here.

Once you get that set as the boot.elf on the HDD, using the Infinity DEV2 Installer v1.1 (latest version), you should be fine. Of course, when using the DEV2 Installer, you have to make sure you have a HDD in the PS2 (formatted correctly for the PS2) first. The Infinity DEV2 Installer basically copies the boot.elf file from that created CD to the "hdd0:/__boot/boot.elf" location. Also, you should make sure the boot.elf file isn't in CAPS (BOOT.ELF), because I don't think it will work from the HDD if it is. Although, the reverse is true for the MC, as it needs to be in CAPS (BOOT.ELF) for it to work from the MC (mc0:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF). I pretty sure I'm right about the CAPS thing, if not then it's another thing to check.

If you've tried all this and have problems or still have questions, please let me know.

No, only the boot.elf file will be copied to the PS2. I left those other files as they are when buring the CD with Nero. I also wanted to point out that that HD Loader ELF you have also could be the problem. I tried using a few different HD Loader files from that same site where you got your unpacked HDL ELF, when I was first trying to set up my PS2 HDD, and none of them seemed to work.

    EDIT: Check your PM.
