inserting new logo..
I finally decided to make my own logo to insert in the firmware that MI has allowed the option for.
I've sized it correctly, all looks well.. but I'm having trouble getting it into the .bin image.
Is there any particular utility you guys use to swap/edit within the .bin file?
Any help is appreciated.
You don't need to rebuild the bin fine
Simply extracting all files, then just added them (as you would any normal data cd) and putting that CD into the PS2 will make it boot.
you don't need any special image format, just as long as all files are there the Matrix will boot 'em.
a know.. maybe I messed something up when I tried it that way, but it wouldn;t accept it as a bootable disk when I tried it. That's why I figured I'd just need to rip and rebuild the bin file...
I went ahead and located a free :) copy of Ultraiso... it is a very nice program and did the trick very nicely. Quick and effortlessly, I might add.
Thanks for the help.
I rebuilt the firmware cd with a new logo however it doesn't seem to load the new logo when I update:banghead: . I opened the original with Photoshop CS so the bitmap is still the same res, and the same colors are used and then copy and paste a picture ontop and then save. The colors change to grayscale, so I know the color table didn't change so I don't understand why it doesn't work. If there is another program I could use to modify the Logo and still have it work, that would be great. PLEASE HELP.
