infinity v7 install help

i have just installed my first modchip and after i turned my ps2 on i got the matrix logo then it goes straight into system configuration. I have pressed and held start which disables the chip but when i press and hold select the screen freezes with the logo still showing, is this a common problem also when i paid to have an infinity modchip when i turned it on it said v 1.68 under the logo on my install it doesn't show a version except when it is disabled. can anyone help as it is not my ps2 and i could be in real trouble

Have you attempted another one? Is the chip a genuine infinity? Let me know,

i had the freezing problem, just hanging at the logo. Its a dodgy solder joint, not sure exactly what one cos i redid a few of them

my ps2 will not play anygames now originals wont play, have i installed the chip incorrectly? when i turn it on i get the infinity logo then i get the browser system configuration option, is this correct or should my ps2 still play originals? i can now access the infinity manager, it seems everything is working until it is time to boot the disc, original or back up, i can hear the laser start but it says disk read error when i try toboot a copy and it jut says reading disk when i try an original, any suggestions would be most welcome.
Keith i could really do with your advice, i cannot find my connector to upload a photo via digi camera, only got my phone which s crap. i shall have another look

Glenn, the Infinity wont boot backups until the the firmware on the chip has been updated, I sent you a link to the software page. However if it wont boot originals either then there must be a solder splash or something done incorrectly, this is why I recommended you dont try it yourself.

Without having a look its hard for me or any other of the fitters to advise you further. Are you sure its a version 7? Whats the number on the back say, the one that starts scphxxxxx?

theres a short on the board.. might be on the bios wires. Check wire W and R.
