Here is the situation I am having. I have recently installed a Matrix Infinity chip into my v14 PS2 board GH-41-(34) i believe. My PS2 will not play backup or import PS2 games. And to play backup and import PS1 games I must force the chip to boot in PS1 mode by holding down CIRCLE while the system is starting. Firmware discs also need to be force booted to work. In summary the auto boot function does not work since if I don't force the system in PS1 mode the system asks me to insert a PS1 or PS2 game(red screen of death). All of these discs do work on the infinity chip I installed in his v14 PS2 automatically so I know the discs are good and his mod chip is good. Another weird part is that the region free works fine. My region 2 movies work without a hitch and my friends movie backups dvdrs work with no problem on the system so I know it is not a laser lens problem(hopefully). After soldering and checking points with a multimeter and resoldering points I thought might be bad I am now confused. All the points check for continuity and to make sure they are not touching each other. I have also checked my solder points hundreds of times just to make sure they are soldered onto the correct points and vias. If no one replies to this message with any help I do have another infinity chip that I can swap with to check to see if the chip is defective. I would upload pics of my board but my dad's dig camera sucks so much that I can't get focus on the board . Any and all help will be greatly appreciated before I have to swap mod chips. Thanks
