How to turn off modchip

So how exactly do i do this? never done it before and never tampered with the chip? is there anything i should do though? its a matrix infinity v1.31?

I believe just hold select when you turn on the PS2. If its not select, its start. One of the two, I can't recall at the moment.

do you remember how long do i need to hold it down for? and hold it down whenever? or only at the start up screen with the browser and system config?

You can disable MI by pressing start button during start up untill "DISABLED" is shown . Press reset once and PS2 will boot without MI. Chip will stay off untill PS2 is put into standby (light goes red).

i had someone on this site put it together for me so im not sure what he used and what not. so i guess ill try holding down the start button thanks for the help guys

how long do you have to hold it down for? cuz it doesnt seem to be working

indeed, i dont think matrix ever release that firmware did they ?

And u have to hold it about 6 seconds max.

lol ok well im just going by what that screen says that pops up "playsation 2 infinity 1.31" something like that o wellz thanks for the help guys
