  1. #1 Question Help on upgrading firmware
    ozguroge Guest
I unzipped infw175.bin and infw175.cue to desktop. and burned with nero using image writing section (burned just the infw175.cue, so what should I do with infw175.bin???). I put the burned cd to my ps2 resetted and nothing happened. when I go to browser it says that the disk cannot be read. Did I do something wrong?

It writes Infinity v1.38 on loading screen when I insert a game.
    My ps2 is a scph7004

what you should try is to unzip both the 1.75 bin and cue to the same folder on the desktop (for example folder name "1.75"). Then start nero (I use starsmart nero) make sure you are on cd (near top), select Copy and Backup tab, select burn image to disc, select the 1.75 .cue file from the folder on the desktop and burn thr disc at a slow rate (below 20x I suggest). Then put it in your ps2 (make sure infinity chip is NOT disabled) and it should boot automatically. If that doesn't work, then I can only suggest either a fake chip or a solder point is loose. Hope that helps you.

burn slower (4x) on good media, or send it to your HDD as it was a game.
    U can also:

    turn of Ps2
press and hold reset while the cd is in.

yea i burned it at 4x butit still doesny work.i press start and nothing happens, it doesnt start loading the firmware.

also does the screen that says "PRESS START TO UPDATE FIRMWARE TO 1.75" show you anything to prove that its updating. i.e.screen change, loading bar, anything?

BTW i have v1.54 right now.i found an old post that said to install infinity manager then try to upgrade....trying that now.

It usually takes about 5-10 seconds.
It sounds like you have a clone chip.

right on.thats pretty f'in weak.i paid these vietnamese dudes $90! to install this piece of crap for me.they said it was a blue o2 or something like that.but when i boot it, it says infinity v1.54.it works(booting back-ups), so i guess its not that big of a deal.i guess theyre just cheap-asses, who put in the cheapest possible chip they can get.
