Help.. finding installation for Blue Dot
Help.. finding installation for Blue Dot –
03-22-2006,09:39 PM
Hi there I have a blue dot MI chip here that was in my roomies system.. He had a version 9 system.. the worm drive stopped working and the cd tray wouldn't open unless forced open then it would work until put into standby mode then you would have to do it again. As for the W-Drive it would only go in reverse (to the back of the ps) it wouldn't go forward at all..
He went and got another system, and gave me the system to get the chip out.. I want to install it in mine which i believe is either a V1 or a V3.. not sure..
the code is USA SCPH 30001
the Serial begins with U1
but the date code is 0D
I still think its a version 1.. i may be wrong..
but still want to take the Blue dot that was sucessfully removed and put it in my system.
I can't seem to find any blue dot installation guides for V1.. can somebody help??? Please..
My roomies GF is getting him a Green Dot here the next few days.. and I am gonna install that in his PS2.. (I believe he has the V10).
Thanks in advance for any help I can get from you here..

The MI's diagrams do not change from color to color. Yellow, orange, blue, green dots all have the same diagrams look here.

Yeah I think you have a V1 also, unless its been used very lightly over the years good luck with its laser booting back-ups.

Well gonna finally install it into the system here (Been busy recovering from a near death assault, which is another story, but I am well now) (Took 6 mos to recover) my question is this, if it don't work will it ruin the PS2? (Its a V1 system ) and if the laser don't work right can I get another laser and install it??? Please give me a hand if you can.

1. why didnt you try replacing the worm drive they dont cost much.
2. if it dousnt work but the install is good then your PS2 will be fine but if your install asint ok you could ruin it.
3. you can get new lasers. Yours will probly be a 400b

1.The reason we didn't replace the worm drive is because after things stopped working altogether then..
2. I know how to solder.. so I was just wondering if it would screw it up.. at least I know if It don't work.. I can take it out.
3. 400b? is this a model # for the laser I would need?
