    Before I soldered A, B, I, Y, and SX I checked to see if I could get the matrix logo and the PS2 menu. Now I get nothing when I turn it on, the button just turns green for a little while then turns red. My friend suggested adding another ground wire so I might see if that helps.

    Its definitely your install, I would re-check it visually and make sure all the wires are connected to the proper spots on the diagram. Also look for bridges and cold joints. And then I would check it it with a multimeter for continuity.

    I don't think it is a black screen anymore I tried it on my tv which has a blue screen on input one and it never changed. The FAQ I am reading doesn't seem to have this listed unless that is considered a black screen. There is no solder where it shouldn't be and everything is wire to the chip correctly.

    Like I said I had no problems until I soldered A, B, I, Y, and SX. Would any of these cause my problem?

    ABI = Cd/DVD points,

    SX= for PSX games

    Y=Clock

    Double check ABIY with a multimeter to make sure, if it doesn't work then remove A,B,I, SX, and Y and see if you get the Matrix logo again.

    If Matrix logo shows then you are sure something is wrong with those points. IF matrix logo doesn't show something happened to your bios points.
    It could be that it is a bad chip or it got damaged in the install but this is highly unlikely.

    Thanks for your help no more black screen it wasn't the wires my friend didn't put it back together correctly. Now I just need to get it to read media which it isn't doing.

    Ok I finally got a picture of installation. Yes I know Y is taped how ever my multimeter shows it working fine. In fact my multimeter says that there are no problems what so ever so this is really bugging me. As for a an update my PS2 reads games and movies fine, however it won't let me play backup psx games without hitting O first which I am fine with. My biggest problem is that none of my backup PS2 games work.

    Solder the y wire. I don't know if that's the problem, but even if it isn't that wire will come off really quickly after you close your ps2.

    Sorry I didn't make my self clear, it isn't taped on. The tape is there because I stripped the wire too much and was afraid of it causing problems.

    Oh i see what you mean. I think your ground should be shorter. I am not sure but most people say that it should be no more that 3-4cm. Try ground it to the copper strip that goes around the edge of the mother board.
