HD Connect MI 1.54 compatable?
HD Connect MI 1.54 compatable? –
I am going mad here trying to get the HD Connect to work with my slim V12 PS2 & Matrix Infinity flashed to 1.54.
Is the 1.54 firmware 100% compatable with HD Connect?
Basically i manually patched HDLoader 0.7c with /V & /L for V12 & 48-Bit, which says cannot detect a HDD connected.
HD Advance says hdd is connected but needs to be formatted, click X and it formats then says straight away failed to format.
DMS Formatter 1.1 says drive needs to be formatted press X etc, then comes up failed to read filesystem.
I am getting lost
I have 4 different makes of HDD, Maxtor, Quatum, WD (Western Digital) and Seagate, all varing sizes.
I have formatted them all in WinHIIP 1.7.3 and installed 1 "item" to the drive for testing.
I have removed and resoldered the HD Connect 3 times, to make sure its 100% with a multimeter as well.
Can anyone suggest anything?
Is my V12 board faulty? modchip faulty? or HD Connect faulty?
Oh yes the MI is compatable with HDC on a v12 100%. It almost sounds like your HDL isnt patched correctly. I dont think HDA is compatable with V12's and that may be why you are getting the error when formatting the HDD with HDA. I remember HDL did this same thing before the V12 patch was released. If HDA is detecting an HDD then I would assume that your install is OK. Are you booting HDL from a disc? You might just try installing HDL to your memory card in mc0:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF this work very well for me.
Well I patched the HDL myself, and tried the various ones on the net.
I must say when it says formating under HDA/DMS, it doesnt, as all the data is still there in WinHIIP after when I check.
I copied 3 different versions of HDL to my mc0, which is where I am launching them from with LaunchELF.
Begining to think something faulty somewhere?
UPDATE: Found a HDL 0.7c thats says "HD Loader FREE", that detects the HDD but does a split-second format and then says failed to format
