I finally got my matrix infinity installed into my brand new slim ps2, and its working like a charm. My backups are working great, this thing runs everything! I'm in love
I did have a few questions though, it didn't come with any user manuals as far as the chip goes. Right now basically all I know how to do, it put in a game and watch it load... it does everything by itself... I do see the Matrix logo, and a tiny matrix logo under the PS2 logo when it loads games, but other than that, what options do I have at this point? Where to next? At its current state, can I burn a disk full of MP3's and will it auto play it? I hear people talking about holding down buttons on boot, and it goes to a diffrent menu? What are these boot loaders used for... There is a ton of random info floating around, and a few great sites that I have been linked to (sksapps, etc) but they assume you know a bit about what your doing.
So what can this baby do, and what do I want to explore with it? Playing my imports and backups are great, but I would really like to mess with memory cards (when I find out what the use is), wtf is an ELF file, and how do I access secret ninja area's of the Matrix Infinity?
Give me some love, its much appreciated

EDIT: I found out how to get to the config menu, pushing triangle + circle on boot, I have version 1.68. Everything seems to be running smoothly, but should I need to upgrade firmware? I don't want to mess anything up hehe

You should upgrade the firmware. It's the reason why you bought such a chip. Becareful, make sure you have the genuine Matrix Infinity, cause you cannot flash clones.

I believe I read on the forums, that in order to play backup games (burnt ISO's) you need a cracked firmware? If this is true, do I need to worry about anything, or just go to the site, grab the newest version, and party? I want to make sure I don't lose that ability.
Also, anyone else on the other questions I had?
Thanks

I'm pretty sure you're thinking of the crystal chip.
