Hard Drive
I have a Matrix Infinity Green Dot version and I was wondering if there is a way to backup your PS2 games to a hard drive and play them directly off of the hard drive using a browser to search for the game you want to play. This feature is available on the DSM4 SE PRO chip using the PS2 USB port. Just wondering if I can do something similar.

Ya its hdloader. You need a ide hdd and a network adaptor. Just hook the hd into the network adaptor and then screw it into your expansion bay on your ps2. Then run hdloader and you can install games from there.

Not unless you get HD Advance/USB Extreme

SKSApps(dot)com and download HD loader v0.7c and burn to a DVD or CD and put it in ur PS2 with ur modchip

Sorry if I am asking dumb questions. I'm pretty new at this.
Gamecubesusx, when you say I need a network adaptor, what do you mean by that and where can I get one of those? What do they look like?
Daisukejigen, What is HD Advance/USB Extreme? Is that software? Will I be able to get an IDE Hard Drive enclosure with a USB output to plug into the USB port of the PS2?
Thank you Gamecubesusx, Daisukejigen, and LordBacon for responding! Any help is very much appreciated.

The network adaptor is the device that hooks up into the back of the old style ps2's and allows you to play online but it also allows you to install a ide hd in your expansion bay. You can find pretty much anywhere ps2's are sold like best buy, ebgames, toysrus,etc.... http://images.bestbuy.com/BestBuy_US...4726504_ra.jpg

Thanks for all your help. I have a slim line PS2, so I am assuming that my only choice is to use USBExtreme. I tried it last night and was only able to install PS2 games to the Hard Drive. PS1 games kept giving me an error "Source disk is invalid" or something similar. Out of the 4 PS2 games I installed, only one played. With the other 3, USBExtreme caused the tv screen to stay black and never load the games.

1. if you get a chip with dev mode you can install a hd with quite a bit of soldering.
2. ps1 games dont boot of any hard drive leader
3. usbextreme isnt suposed to be very compatible. if its like hd loader press select and try difrent modes (usualy mode 3)
