Sorry I am short on time, but here we go.

I have a v2 PS2 and I jsut installed the chip, soldered all the points got under the board for the SX and Y solders and put it all back together. I just plugged it in and it boots normally.... as if I hadn't done anything at all to it. It recognizes the official ps2 discs, but when clicked it will go to a black screen I hear a noise, apparently from the reader and then it goes back to the (mem/cd menu). Can anyone suggest what I did wrong? Thanks for any help you can give.

the only thing you can do is recheck all wiring, make sure power and ground are thicker wires and ground is as short as possible, check all wires connected properly and in the right spots
    cheers
