I have a PS2 with GH-052-02 version. I have installed the modchip but did not work. I did not get the Matrix logo screen at boot up. After some seconds I got the normal PS2 boot up screen but, the games did not work even the original ones. I have used the GH-051-02 intallation reference.
Does somebody know if this version can be modded? or do I need to do a firmware update?
BTW. I have checked all the connections with an ohmmeter and all are OK.
they can all be modded. i'd double/triple check your connections. can you take a pic of your install?
I have removed the chip for verifying if the PS2 works ok and it does well.
I have searched over the web and I have found some deviations on the GH-052-02 but using other mod-chip (DMS4) the connection for one of the vias in secction 2 in located in a different place.
I will try again on the weekend. The infomation does not make any recommendation on placing the modchip. I do not like the idea of placing the board over electronic components so I have used some plastic tape between modchip and PS2.
What information do I need to use for connecting this PS2 version? I found that the GH-051-02 looks similar but, it is not the same. Any suggestion?
Hello. I have the same mb you have on the PS2. I also used the GH-051-02 diagram for reference. After installing the chip, I was able to boot both originals and back-ups with one little problem. It might take two or three attempts at opening the door and re-entering the browser until the PS2 recognizes the disc.
But I am able to boot both.
Let me know if I can help at all.
Me Too I have a v15 gh-052-02 mobo ant the matrix blue dot on it but no luck. It doesnt pic up the chip. Wondering if i need a new green dot or dms4. need help. Maybe is there anyway to reflash the chip or put firmware on it again. Need Help!!!
