flashing from 1.38 to 1.54

Ｉ　ａｍ　ｈａｖｉｎｇ　ｐｒｏｂｌｅｍ　ｗｉｔｈ　ｍｙ　ｓｌｉｍ　ｐｓ２．
Ｏｒｉｇｉｎａｌｌｙ，　Ｉ　ｈａｄ　ｉｎｆｉｎｉｔｉ　１．３８．　　After trying to flash to v. 1.54, the only thing ps2 shows is the grey matrix logo.

I　ｄｉｄｎ?ｔ　ｏｐｅｎ　ｔｈｅ　ｐｓ２，　ｓｏ　Ｉ　ｄｏｕｂｔ　ｉｔ?ｓ　ｈａｒｄｗａｒｅ　ｉｓ ｓｕｅｓ．
Ｉ burned the cd with nero, and flash was good.

Ｉ bought it new and moded from pacific mall　（Ｓｏｆｔｍａｒｔ） in Toronto. So I don't think it's a fake chip.

Man that's some crazy formatting going on there.

Download the v1.54 firmware to a new CD that's good quality.

Put it in the PS2 and from standby mode hold the power button for about 2.5 seconds. The PS2 should boot the CD and you can attempt the FW upgrade again.

i am sure you can throw the modchip in the Trashcan
because we are talking about a InfinityClone the ##$#@ MODBO 1.1
replace it with a original infinity will cure the problem
