first install ..... need some help –

ok jsut finished installing my first MI i think its an orange dot and its flashed with 1.75, had to re do the wires twice to get it to work right.
went into a v4R
ok before i installed it the dvd worked fine now it dosent work at all, it will try to spin twice then give up.
everytime i boot the ps2 i have to configure it each time.
theres no boot up sound, and after i leave the ps2 running for a while i get some strange C64 sounds out of it
any help to fix these problems would help... and yes i have used the search button

it sounds like an install problem, either a loose connection, a wrong connection or a shorted connection, recheck all these and if no go find a camera and take a pic and post here, we may see the problem straight away
cheers
