    Hi,

I am trying to update my firmware from 1.68 to 1.75. I am using Nero to burn the .cue/.bin file. My burner is a NEC ND-1100A with the most updated firmware for it. I have tried both Verbatim CD-R's and Memorex CD-R's at multiple different speeds. The files are burned successfully (at least according to Nero), but when I try to upgrade the firmware nothing happens. By this I mean that the Matrix logo comes up, the initial PS2 load screen comes up, and then a screen that shows the CD with options to either backup or enter. On the last screen, the disc is correctly labeled as a PS2 disk, but when I hit enter I just end right back at that screen again.

My backup games run fine (both DVD and CD). Do I need to be burning at a specific speed? I have used the above media on backups and they seem to work fine.

    Thanks

where are you downloading the firmware from, are you downloading from matrix site, it should flash, it seems strange that it wont, download version 1.36 with infinity manager and see if it will flash to 1.36 then try flashing to 1.75 using infinity manager and see how you go
    cheers

I am downloading the firmware update from http://www.infinitymod.com/cgi-bin/m...inity_software. I have a version 14 PS2. Will downgrading that far back mess anything up?

no not at all, infact you probably dont need to, you can install infinity manager without actually downgrading from memory so install infinity manager found here
    http://www.infinitymod.com/matrix/fi...erV1_36_00.zip
and then try to upgrade to 1.75
