FFX International Freezing

I Have a PS2 slim V12 with a Matrix Infinity (FW 1.82). In Final Fantasy X International, the game runs great until I beat Dark Valefor and then the game freezes on the cutscene that occurs after he is beaten. I never had any freezing problems with any other games and its not the disc because Its in pristine condition plus I tried a friends copy and same thing happens.

is that with a original or is it a backup?

It is backup, but I own original (lost somewhere in my room)

i would get the original and see if it has the same problem, if it doesn't freeze then make another backup
