fake or not? –

hello to all the good members of this forum
first of all i'm sorry if it's being asked again in this forum.
i'm a bit confused wether my infinity modchip is fake or not. i'm trying to upgrade to 1.88 or 1.91 from 1.82 that my version apears on playstation logo when it boots.
i boot the update cd and then is says press start and then it does nothing for some seconds and it says unable to update.
from what i have read so far u say that the fake one doesn't show the matrix logo at startup but mine does. plus it plays all backups ntsc and pal i have no problems with games i can also deactivate by pressing start and it even has the same menu as the original infinity chip from screens i've seen in this forum.
thats where i'm confused. all the features point that the chip is a real infinity chip except for the firmware update that's not doing. can u guys tell me if its fake or real?
i tried to open it up to see for myself but i didn't go too far. (i opened the top case but i was afraid to pull anything out)
any help would be apreciated
thank u
forgot to mention that i have a ps2 slim type

its still probly fake. Chips like modbo 4.0 and 750 do exactly as yours dose

I opened mine up recently. Before I had given details, someone told me it sounded like I had an original, but after opening it up, I found it was an obvious clone.
