F14 fuse –
12-16-2005,02:50 AM
I installed a MI in a V7. After testing it a few times I called the customer to pick it up. 1 hour after he picked it up, I received phonecall from him telling me the ps2 didn't work. A fuse, F14 was blown. I checked and that's the 3.4V regulator. I replaced it with a new one. Don't know how the fuse could blow. A few days later another phonecall telling me the ps2 has the same problem. Same thing! F14 blew. Now I replaced it with an 2.5A fuse in stead of the original 2.0A. It has been a day now and no phonecall yet
I can't figure out how this can happen.

Got a phonecall today from the same guy. Fuse has blown again
I'll get the PS2 tomorrow. Will try to replace the modchip. Havn't got an idea what else to try.

i was going to say maybe its the modchip - not a good idea to keep uping the fuse rating. next thing something else might fry
