Expert help needed : Matrix Infinity cannot play resident evil 1 (ps1 on cd-r)

I have installed a Matrix Infinity 1.88 firmware, in a SCPH-39004 (V7) ps2.

The quality of the KHS-400C laser is good for CD & DVD's, but the customer has problems to load "Resident Evil 1" on CD-R.
The ps2 got stuck on the part, where we see the ps1 logo.

We did all the games in a SCPH-70004 (V12) ps2, with DMS4Pro with TOXIC OS0.3 and that ps2 could play the game without any problems.

It did not make any difference which kind of CD-R we took, and also with which speed we burned it.
We tried Nero 7.0.1.2 , ImgBurn & CloneCD.
We tried Platinum CD-R , Philips CD-R & FujiFilm CD-R's.
We tried to burn at 24x speed & 4 speed.
All other ps1 backups I have, can be played without problems.

At the time the ps1 logo appeared on the screen, we saw that the CD-R constantly spinned up, and slowed down, spinned up, slowed down etc.
We installed a new laser, and the same problem was seen.

It did not make a difference when we updated the matrix infinity 1.88 to 1.91 , but that did not make any difference.

And how could this be solved ?

Sounds like the game is the problem, if other PS1 games are booting.

make sure everything under configuration menu is set right other then that i don't know what the problem could be

Everything is good under the config menu.

The game can be played with DMS4Pro TOXICOS0.3 , but not with Matrix Infinity 1.91

Should I add dummy files ????

How can it be that the DMS4Pro with ToxicOS0.3 does not have problems playing the game, and matrix infinity 1.91 has ?

Layout of the disk, MI needs extra dummy files ?

Try disableing "PSX screen fix" helps with some games,alternatively try finding a old copy of gameshark for psone and using it as a bootdisc, or lastly try dumping the game to your hard drive removing the ZNULL.DAT (all dummy files) file and recreating an image with cdrwin (theres a toturial out there some where on the net of how to rebuild a psone disc),if I remeber correctly RE1 also had xa audio witch needs to be rebuilded with our new iso...

That sould rule out the 3 main problems that you might be having ;)

Try forcing the PS1 mode (Hold Circle button while turning the console on).

I had problems with 1.82 firmware (yeah, i still haven't upgraded the firmware) with some old PS1 games like Gunners Heaven and Hermie Hopperhead, and using this Force PS1 Mode, they worked perfectly.

plz tell me how to get bloody roar ps1 to work on my modfied ps2 it's PAL OR NTSC/UC im sure plz

I changed PSX screen fix, but did not make any difference.
I hold the O button for fast boot psx games, but did not make any difference.

I also have seen exactly the same problem with Modbo 745 1.82 firmware, in a V7.

I am pretty sure that it has something to do with the order of the files, and or dummy files.

Somehow, DMS4Pro is handling the files more smarter then the Matrix Infinity.

All of my PS1 backups work flawlessly. Make sure the SX point is soldered correctly. That is needed to play PS1 games. I myself play all of my PS1 backups on my v1 PS1 with the stealth mod chip and yes, it still works like brand new!
