Don't play backup dvds
Don't play backup dvds –
I installed and MI G Dot Homebrew on a PS2 75004 and i been having some problems with it. First i think it was the ground/3.3V wire, which i replaced it. it worked fine for one day, which it played all my media ( original, backup, DVD video, psx original, psx backup cds) then i turned it off and from them on it doens't read backup dvds (all the rest it's ok) - the same dvds it read the day before. It just says " Not a PS2 cd/dvd" something like that.
It has only 8 hours playing time, so i think it's not the lens. I have problem with the drive motor, but if i loose on of the ribbons it works ok.
I double-checked all soldering ( with multimiter), it seems ok. It even reads my firmware update CD . I updated it to 1.82 then someone says to downdrage which i did, but still the same problem. So it's not a clone, because i can update the firmware.
I can access the MI Configuration Panel and alter any configuration and it still works fine. It's working perfectly (with the problem of the backup DVDs).
One thing i noticed is that the night it played all, the movie intros on games were jumpimg frames (the games itself were fine) and now it doesn't do that anymore.
I read that it could be the voltage tunning on the laser, but it reads original dvds. So i think that's rules out too.
I think the chip isn't the problem because i can read backup CDs (like the firmware update CD, otherwise it would be impossible).
Can anyone please help? I tried almost everything here in the forum. I tried #ps2-scene on EFNET and nothing can solve my problem.
Felling kind of desperate.....
Thanx in advance
pull the chip and install.. test with original games and movies then reinstall the chip.
