Dead MI ?
I try to replace Magic on 39006 V7 with MI, backup/import doesn't work.
I manage to upgrade the firmware using 'hold reset till blue light' method.
I did recheck on A,B,H,I like everyone told on IRC still no luck. Even tried 5V + Diode mod.
Putting back Magic => PS2 work fine again (backup/import work)
Is my MI = Dead ?
Hmm you do not supply much info
did the infinity give RSOD's
You told you managed to upgrade the firmware
did originals show Infinity 1.xx under the playstation2 logo ?
did you rewire everything or did you use the old wires from the magic
this because not all points are the same,
Y and Rst like a sample
i have not seen much dead infinity's and i have installed more then 5000
So i do not expect that your chip is dead
There also right on irc that you really have to check the DVDcontroller points before
Can you post a picture of the install so that we can check to see of anything is wrong soldered
-RSOD for backup/import, original and DVD movies work
-I can access the menu with triangle+circle, and yeah I see the matrix logo when I turn on my PS2
-I only use (from the old magic connection) the one for bios? (MNOPRTUVQW), G,I and ground.
Maybe confused the RST line with the Z
but I can reset just fine. Dev1,Dev2 also working fine. only backup/import doesn't
Work PS1 import backup?
hm maybe you forgot to mention in your list but did you also do the A and B wire ,sx,y,rst and 3.3 volt
Wire B ist on the wrong place on Mainboard.
Look at that B point.
mabcom, what I mean is I use old/previous cables. For A,B,SX,Y,RST,3.3V I resolder new cable.
Hansi2k, I did recheck on B, no luck.
Also I'm certain about B,because it's the same like in the MAGIC.
BTW bigger cable only needed for 3.3V and Ground right ? I do google and someone said I need it also for Y ?????
could it be the G-point ? You said you used that point also for the M.I.
But that point should not be connected according to the connection diagram.
For the MAGIC you need it, for the M.I. not !!
Or did you found out yourself in the mean time ?
