Hi everyone. I bought and installed by myself a matrix infinity onto my v4 ps2.

After installation, without the controller plugged in, the matrix logo popped up. So I assumed it was a decent install. I can play ps1 backups, enter the config screen, and disable the chip.

However whenever I put in a ps2 backup (TDK DVD-R burned @ 4x), all i get is the red screen of death (rsod).

I tried updating the firmware. It wouldn't recognize the CD and just gave me another rsod. I had to force it to ps1/movie mode and then it was able to update the firmware from 1.68 to 1.82.

But it still won't play ps2 backups.

Because the menus and logos are showing up, I'm hesitant to believe that I did a faulty install. But this is my first time modding.
    Can anyone help me out?

Oh yea, I forgot to mention that original ps2 games still work. When the ps2 logos loads, it has infinity with the version number underneath.

    Can you boot dvd movies?
If you can do that... your problem sounds like mine.

Hey juventini. I checked the dvd playback. I can play US dvds. But apparently I can't play any of the dvds i got from shanghai. I cycled through all the dvd regions too.

WhatsAModchop: the pins I'm not 100% certain I did correcly are the 2 of the bios, the SCEX, and the a-b-i points. I don't know what the a-b-i or the SCEX. Do you?
