Hi all. i bought my son a slim ps2 chipped with matrix infinity model number 70003 it has been working fine for a week playing all games, but today he tried a new game (call of duty 2) but it wouldn't read the disc, so he put the game in that he was playing prior to this (dynasty warriors 5) and the machine switched itself off after a couple of seconds, and that is what it does when he tries to play any dvdr games, it will play cdr games and music but no dvdr games. i have upgraded the firmware to v1.54 but made no difference. any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks for the reply smail, but not practical or economical, as i bought it on the internet from another forum, so would have to mail back to seller and he would have to mail to chipper, and vice versa,

This symptom maybe is from matrix pic fix .
Try to change the value of resistor in point J.
Or remove this fix and install a new generation fix ( like subzero)
