Booting HB

Hi,
how its done in MI with homebrew firmware that it boots only homebrew software and not copied originals ? How does it technically works ?

Uhm, easy i guess, basicly the chip takes over PS2 BIOS functions.
So homebrew wont boot copies, only execute programs.

I guess u can execute HDLoader and still play a copy from your HDD, but it wont play DVD/CD copies. why do u ask?

I ask because i want to know if there is any bios and controller patching with HB firmware. Basicly if Matrix Infinity with HB firmware is legal (without patching).
I dont want to have problems with law....
