Boot problem –
10-23-2005,12:24 AM
I have a slimline ps2 and have encountered a problem. I recently tried to change my settings on my infinity chip to force boot a PAL DVD. However it did not work and when i changed it back i could no longer get any game to work. I am stuck staring at a "please insert a format ps/ps2 format disc"
I have tried retail games as well. Help?

is your chip a real matrix infinity? it sounds like you have a clone or fake matrix infinity, since fake matrix infinity can't change settings otherwise it kills the chip which sounds like what happened to yours

when i changed it the first time. It continued to load. The problem was when i changed it back. No idea if its fake or not. Its been working flawlessly since i got it up until now.

Try to upgrade with 1.54 fw.
If work OK then is original.
If stuck in infinity logo then is a dead clone
