Advice please –

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to install a green dot version on a v9.
I got very close with the first console I tried (a V3). I did get close to getting this one working but it never worked properly and went werirdo on my when I tried to flash the bios unsucessfully (it just froze).
I tried to resolder a few connections but then somehow fried the motherboard and got the black screen of death.
Bought a second hand console, a V9, fitted a new laser and this got it working again.
Now have tried to install MI but cannot get it to boot. I suspect that my install although connected up electrically, is too messy.
The console will only boot if you use the reset to bypass the MI.
No logo and the CD drive makes a not very nice noise as the Laser hits the end stop. (ouch!)
Could some nice person show me a picture of an install which works so that I can copy the wiring layout ?
It's becoming a point of principal that I get this working myself but anyone know a professional installer in the UK ?
Also, could the bios of the MI be screwed and will I still be able to reload the new bios onto the chip once it is connected up and running?
Sorry for the bunch of questions.
Thanks in advance,
Pete.

Search the mod install section.

Yes, the chip has a recovery mode which is activated if you hold down reset button for 5 seconds and let go so the console boots.
