Why is that? I'm scared to update, as I have 1.88 now. AM I going backwards? Why does it was 1.82 if it's supposed to be 1.93?

Flashing a MI is a scary enough process as it is.

Can someone please tell me if it really IS 1.93 in that archive even though the boot screen of the created CD identifies it as v1.82?

    Thanks!

Well if you downloaded the 1.93 firmware from this link, then I don't know either. I just compared this file with the one I already flashed my chip with, and they are identical. When I go into my Matrix Infinity boot menu it says v1.93.

EDIT: There could also be some issue with the Matrix Infinity firmware, as was originally reported back in this thread.

It will be displayed directly under the Playstation2 logo just before loading a game from the CD/DVD drive, or you can hold down /\ + O on startup to get into your Matrix Infinity boot menu options, but do not change anything unless you know for sure that you have an official Matrix Infinity chip, or have a Modbo v4 (clone) chip which does allow you to change settings and update firmware.

Want to knwo something strange? I rebooted from that CD again that I made with 1.93 and it came up right, and flashed right, to 1.93. SO ODD that the first time I booted it it showed a different flash screen and specifically said 1.82. Must be some old code in the flasher or something that got triggered somehow?

Try this link. I just used it to update my other matrix and it says 1.93.
