just open the splash and main bmp in photoshop. dont forget to save![]()
And if I dont have photoshop !!!
Since all you need to do here is to edit a BMP picture, it might be overkill to use photoshop anyway. A small program like "Microsoft Paint" will also do the job nicely, and as far as I know that's supplied free with all Windows systems. I've used it myself to produce simple splash and menu screens for HDLoader.Originally Posted by slicer74

Is that mean, all .bmp file could fit into splash and main ?
Is there a # of pixels and size that I need to respect ?
Thanks guys
oh.. i didnt mean to be dissrespektfull. sorry.
well, dlanor did give you a god answer.
I always start of with a working splash or main bmp. (just open in your program)
then i edit it. if asked at save, chose 24bit.
These BMPs for HDL must be exactly 512x448 pixels, and use 24 bits per pixel (AKA: 16 million colours). The normal BMP file size is then 688182 bytes.Originally Posted by slicer74
Like retro said, it's a good idea to start with an already existing file, known to work. This way you don't have to specify those details yourself.
