I'm not really sure about USB HDD thou but so far as I know, Soul Calibur 2 isn't really compatible with loaders... unless you patch it up.

Wow, from all this talk, something tells me the USB isn't worth it unless you have v.10.

I tried quite a lot of games, Ratchet and Clank 1 works fine, it doesn't work at all via HDLoader/HDadvance. Gradius 5 also works just fine via USB and not at all via IDE.

Out of the games I tried the Jak and Daxter games didn't work, but most others did - the movies were all too slow - i guess there is not enough bandwidth to stream them (which is wierd coz full speed USB 1.1 is 1.5 MB per second - so it should work, maybe the buffer is too small?)

Some games didn't work when they got to FMV sections, so I guess a lot of the crashing is related to the speed of the USB link - but the USB driver is definately worth looking at to see if any of the compatability improvements it contains could be ported back to HDloader/HDadvance.

Indeed. Consider my only choice for uploading isos to IDE HDD is with hdl_dump... so anything larger than 1Gb is taking forever to upload. At least this UsbAdvance goes up to 20mb per sec when creating the iso...
