UsbExtreme Vs. usbAdvance

What is the difference. I purchased a UsbExtreme today and expecting to get it next week. I have a psTwo (slim line) and a maxtor usb/firewire 200gb onetouch drive. Will this setup work? Also what is the difference between the software titles mentioned above. will any of these allow me to use *.elf files. I am a newbie at this, and from what i can tell by reading i want to be able to use *.elf files to get video to play, ftp access, etc.. Can someone point me to a basic beginers guide? Thanks and i hope to enjoy the ps2-scene :P
