Is possible a version of usb advance for matrix infinity to work without cd in drive?.
Thanks.
Dear Devs,
Thanks for modding this soft to make it available to everyone. I looked around this and a few other forums and couldn't find the answer to the following question posted any where. Are there any versions of USBAdvance modified to use the I-link connection? I would like to know if any homebrew softs like ulaunch or SMS support this too, but I'll post those questions in the proper thread. Excuse me if this is the wrong place to post this.
Thanks for all the time you Devs have spent to make the PS2 more useful!!
HI. I'm new ps2 crystal chip user, hi to everybody.

Assuming that you need to use SwapMagic for the normal reason, that you have no mod-chip, then it is clearly impossible to boot a copy, since booting a copy would in itself require a mod-chip.Originally Posted by alidona
And if you have a mod-chip, then that entire procedure with SwapMagic is unnecessary.
Also, if you have an old PS2 (earlier than v11) then you can use the 'exploit' method of booting instead of SwapMagic.
To rephrase the above:
SwapMagic is only needed for new PStwo models (where exploit won't work), and only if you don't have a mod-chip. And if you do need it, then you always need an original pressed disc, not just a CD-R copy.
Btw: Are you aware that the post you replied to is over a year old, and that the user who wrote it is not around anymore...?

Yes, i would agree about the useless stuff, yet i bust my network adaptor few month ago, i fiddle with it, so...![]()
Would buy a new one, but the price around here had tripled or so.
i'll get a hdd enclosure tomorrow, cheaper by far, hope it works.![]()
I really hope you guys who do hdloader would do usb advance too, especially for compatibilities, would really apreciate it, thank you very much in advance.![]()
No matter who works on it, USBAdvance will never gain the same compatibility as HDLoader has with some games, partly due to the USB 1.1 speed restriction, and partly due to the fact that the basic CDVD emulation routines of HDLoader are more compatible to begin with, even without improvement patches.Originally Posted by arifinch
It might be possible to improve that compatibility of USBAdvance, by new patches, but the transfer speed restriction would still remain, as that is impossible to eliminate.

best to use 3.6 not 3.3 and also i have found that you cant boot usbadvance chrystal chip v1.1 cant comment on other versions. I helped another user get his working here phpbb88.com/usbadvance also got a list of over 100 titles working on usb advance on there to and im updating it daily testing need 4 speed carbon tonight and b-boy
