Anyways if I connect my USB external hd and try to access it the system locks up, if its on at startup, it freezes at the splash screen....now comes to some rather confusing parts. I want to play the games from the external hd, they install fine on my pc, ntsf format first, then used usb extreme to format into fat32. Everything ive looked at is up to date.
I tried usb advanced, it was able to access my external and play games.
I tried openps2loader, when it tries to start the HD it freezes, either if its on manual or automatic.
I tried uloadelf, it freezes when I select mass.
If I have a flash drive plugged into slot 1 and external in slot 2 it loads, but no mass1 pops up, just the mass for the usb stick.
I am fairly sure that uloadelf and openps2loader's problems are probally connected, since both those have problems where as usb advanced wont.
I want to get this system able to access my mass storage, I have no idea if its a compatability issue or what, ive tried looking for compatability lists and all I get are lists of games that are reported to work....which is NOT what im looking for, Obviously since usb advanced work my HD is getting accessed somehow, so whats the issue? If anyone figures it out would help me alot....in the mean time, does anyone have a compatability list for usb hard drives (and interal ones as well with a enclosure) list. Ive read alot of posts on here and I think such a list would benefit everyone involved and end up with less threads about this topic.
If anyone has any answers well....im all ears....or is it eyes since im technically reading the responses.
All hard disk drives should be compatible. The only thing that matters is the enclosure. Some enclosures are just not compatible.
Have you tried using PS2ESDL yet? http://psx-scene.com/forums/f253/pla...ps2esdl-63375/ (Playstation 2 External Storage Device games Loader (PS2ESDL))
It's tuned for USB support, and occasionally has observed better device compatibility.
Performane has been reported to be slightly better too.
