I use USB Advance too. But, i have another problem:
I've connected the USB HDD (via an USB rack), have it formatted using the NTFS partition, copied over some files and games, but when i connect it to the ps2 (version 9, using messiah chip), i hear a little buzzing sound from the speakers (like if the "ground" were missing, leading to an 50hz buzz), and it surely affects the screen too (for example, when it's plugged into the USB slot of the ps2, the bottom-right corner of the Browser goes a little bit dark). I know, that reading this you'd say: sack the rack, it's electronically jammed. But here goes the fun part: connected to a PC (tried on several, distinct pcs) it works like a charm. Any suggestions?

That partition type is your main problem.
USB Advance, as well as all PS2 homebrew software, needs a FAT filesystem on USB mass storage devices (whether they are really HDD or Flash memory doesn't matter, as you need FAT in any case). The recommended format is FAT32, since that has less restrictions on file and partition sizes than the 'lesser' FAT versions.

I have a PAL V14 and Matrix Infinity. Is it because USBExtreme is NTSC and my PS2 is PAL?
Edit: Read the solution here. Turned off Makro-fix and it works.
Can someone pls explain how to turn off the Makro-fix.
Thank u very much .

You need to get into the option configuration menu, which for the Matrix Infinity chip is done by pressing and holding both the buttons Triangle and Circle on your gamepad while booting the console. Once in the menu you should be able to find a setting called "Macrovision Fix", which by default is turned ON. You need to turn that setting OFF, and save those settings, so that they'll be used in future boots.
However, don't even try this if you have a clone of the MI, rather than the genuine article, as most clones are made with a cheaper chip type, which does not survive an attempt to change settings.
