The Memor32 usage is strange, as it requires USB connection to a PC for original setup of the Memento boot software. And this use of the PS2 ability to boot from MC is very non-optimal. The non-commercial FMCB implementation of it is much better, and works with any MC (while Memento works only with Memor32 MCs).
Well tested with on original - the console works.
I looked around at the possibilites and, well, as building in a mod-chip is quite difficult, I was glad, there were easier ways with HDadvance, usbextreme or the Mem-32-usb thing. So I checked on these and took USB extreme (as HD-Extreme doesnt work with slim and the Memory Card memor 32 seemed strange.
I'm afraid you did buy crap. My own estimate is that the game compatibility of USBExtreme (same core as USBAdvance) is approximately 30% or less, so less than one game in three can be expected to work at all, and those which do may still work badly.
Well, now as I got Usb extreme, I tried it out. I had several game-copies (Smackdown vs Raw 2011 and 2009, Buffy the V.S. - chaoes bleeds, jurassic the hunted, the simpsons the game and 2 smaller japanese games).
Well, I'm using a PAL-Version (Germany) and I'm sure I bought the PAL-Disc.
I used a 400 GB external USB-IDE-HDD, a Typhoon 20GB 1.8" HDD-Mp3-player, and a 4 GB USB-Flash-Stick. On the HDD and the Stick, the games were found. (tried the Dos-command, the windows GUI from hdadvance.com and the disc util 2.0 from this forum for converting.) but when I start one of the games and the screen goes black.
(the USB-Stick seems to be working due to it's indication light, but I can't hear the HDD doing something.) (also formatted the HDD several times)
I found (after this) on other forums, that USB extreme seems to be crappy and nearly no games work on this, so tell me:
Did I buy crap or am I just doing something wrong?
